‘हुंकार’ हा कथासंग्रह म्हणजे तारुण्यातील बेरीजवजाबाकीचा आलेखच! तारुण्य आयुष्यातील सळसळत्या उत्साहाचा काळ. प्रेम करण्याचा, प्रेमात हरवण्याचा, प्रेमासाठी वाट्टेल ते करण्याचा. स्वत:ची झालेली फट्फजिती कबूल करण्याचा, दुसयाची गंमत मजेत दुरून बघण्याचा, पण कधीकधी भलतीच ठेच लागते, अगदी जिव्हारी लागते. विसरू म्हणता विसरता येत नाही. नकळत झालेली चूक स्वीकारताही येत नाही. वास्तवाला सामोरे जायचे धैर्यही कधीकधी दाखवावे लागते. संसारात पडल्यावर दुखरा कोपरा मनात ठेवून काहीजण जगतात, काही त्यातून बाहेर येतच नाहीत. मागचे भोग विसरून वाटेला आलेला संसार टुकीने, नेटकेपणाने करणारे असतात. तर व्यवहारात भलत्याच काळ्या वाटेने जाऊन काहीजण फसवे सुख मिळवतात. प्रेमाच्या निरनिराळ्या छटा, त्यातील आततायीपणा, जोम, परिस्थितीमुळे असफल झालेल्या प्रेमातील वेदना, कारुण्य, संसारातले वास्तव, तडजोड, सच्चेपणा, मुलांबद्दलचा उमाळा, हळवेपणा या सा-या अवस्था वपुंनी या संग्रहातील वेगवेगळ्या कथांमधून चितारल्या आहेत. कधी विनोदाने मनाला खुदकन हसवणाया, कधी डोळ्यांच्या कडा ओल्या करणाया, तर कधी सरळ सत्याला भिडणाया अशा या कथा आहेत. |
